There are still things I don't understand.

I just realized how many things I really don't understand at all.

Five things Friday
(Four things I love about this week, and one TGIF)
1.  I completed my first floor set as a visual merchandiser…and I got to design all of the walls!!
2.  I’m making a bouquet of felt flowers and buttons, and I love that they will never wilt!
3.  Because of the heat wave today was “tshirt, shorts and flip flops day” at work…making everyone in the office extremely silly looking, and giving me an excuse to wear my penguin Kanye tee!
4.  I realized I can buy syrups directly from the Starbucks store, instead of ordering it online!
5.  I think my electric bill will be $1000 this month if this weather doesn’t calm down.

Five things Friday

(Four things I love about this week, and one TGIF)
1.  I decided to juice my own apple juice, and I am in LOVE.
2.  My nail polish is sparkly enough for a 5 year old to be happy.
3.  I’m making strawberry shortcake cupcakes tomorrow for my family picnic…with fresh strawberries!
4.  I got two adorable shirts (for free, btw) from my merchandising manager’s trip to tokyo earlier this week!
5.  A 3 ft metal pole got thrown at my bumper last weekend.  ’Nuff said.

1.  My boss was away this week, leaving me able to relax, and the ability to fulfill the urge to play Jason Derulo’s ” Ridin’ Solo” as much as I felt necessary.
2.  My lip gloss that happens to taste exactly like birthday cake.
3.  The memo I took all day to make, which turned out awesome! (With no credit stealing from the boss!)
4.  I finally got light bulbs that fit in my awesome find of a lamp.
5.  Why is it raining…the weekend is here!

All I know is this: nobody’s very big in the first place, and it looks to me like everybody spends their whole life tearing everybody else down.

—One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey

I hate the phrase ‘what goes around comes around’. In all honesty, it’s not really true. It would be nice to know that those that do wrong to us would have the situation turn back on them, and they would get this profound life lesson. Unfortunately, the people that you have to wish this upon are usually the ones that are so ignorant, that they just don’t get it. They are the ones that don’t understand the lessons that most people would get. They will continue their life thinking that anything in their life that goes sour is not a result of anything that they’ve done, but that life is unjust and karma is just a word people who are too timid to get even use to console themselves at night. If we have to wait on the idea that others will be punished for making our lives hard, we will be waiting for a long, long time.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car

Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; its when you had everything to do, and you’ve done it.

I wish that popularity and insecurities would just vanish once you get out of high school.  It’s always associated with high school, but the truth is, it never really stops.  No one seems to acquire the ability to take a person at face value, but instead tend to get impressions or opinions from other people far before coming to their own conclusions.  Can’t we all just get along?  At the end of the day, you either get along with someone, or you don’t.  Does it really matter what someone else’s opinions of them are?

Chocolate Candy-cane Cupcakes

Chocolate Candy-cane Cupcakes have to be the perfect holiday treat.  I was nervous about putting candy canes in them because no one likes a crunchy cupcake, but they melted and made the whole thing a minty, chocolate-y dream.
